On April 16th, Terrell McSweeny announced her resignation as a commissioner on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

McSweeny, who is currently one of only two members of the commission and the only Democrat, joined the FTC in April 2014 after being nominated by President Obama.

President Trump has nominated five new commissioners to the FTC since his term began, but none of them have been confirmed by the Senate yet.

McSweeny’s last day will be on April 28, 2018.

A day later, Mignon Clyburn announced her intention to resign from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The Democratic commissioner was nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the Senate in 2009. Clyburn is an advocate for net neutrality regulations and sparred with FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and the three-member Republican majority over their decision to repeal net neutrality last year.

By law, President Trump must nominate a Democrat to replace Clyburn.

Clyburn’s official departure date has yet to be confirmed.
