Strategy and communications firm Purple Strategies enlisted Patrick Palmer as a managing director.

Palmer was previously a partner and strategy practice lead for VSA Partners, a design firm in Chicago. He also held leadership roles for agencies, including Leo Burnett, Havas Worldwide and RPA. He has over 30 years of experience as a brand/marketing strategist. Based in the firm’s Alexandria, Va., office, Palmer will focus on innovation, research, strategy development and thought leadership.

Purple noted in a press release that it has added a blend of agency veterans and political hands over the past year, with hires from Edelman, Weber Shandwick, and the Glover Park Group, as well as strategists who have worked on Republican and Democratic political campaigns.
