Washington’s Crowell & Moring LLP announced the formation of a New York healthcare practice, hiring several health care attorneys from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP.

The new group will be co-led by four attorneys: Paul Mourning and Stephanie Marcantonio, whose practice at Cadwalader focused on transactional work for nonprofit institutions and health care providers; and Kathy Hirata Chin and Brian McGovern, litigators whose work involved representing healthcare providers and provider associations in federal and state court.

On the hires, firm chairman Philip T. Inglima stated, “Much of the institutional healthcare business in New York is operated by nonprofit providers, and this prominent team is well suited to support those clients, and for-profit initiatives.”

In addition to their work in launching Crowell & Moring’s New York Health Care Practice, Mourning and Marcantonio will also practice in the firm’s Corporate Group, while Chin and McGovern will serve as members of the firm’s Litigation Group.
