“I am delighted to join Shipman & Goodwin,” Justice Katz said. “We are all working together and thinking outside the box to create real value for our clients doing business in Connecticut and beyond.”

Katz served the Connecticut Supreme Court for nearly two decades, and in that time heard roughly 2,500 cases and submitted close to 500 opinions. Before that, she was Chief of Legal Services for the state’s Public Defender Services, and co-authored Connecticut Criminal Case Law Handbook: A Practitioner’s Guide (published by The Connecticut Law Tribune). She’s taught at Yale University School of Law, Quinnipiac University School of Law and University of Connecticut School of Law – all three of the state’s law schools – and currently serves as an Associate Fellow of Trumbull College at Yale University.
