Andrew McCabe stepped down from his position as deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Monday, January 29th.

McCabe had previously announced his retirement, effective mid-March, and has been placed on paid leave until his retirement takes effect.

It is not clear whether McCabe’s departure was his decision, but the Washington Post reported last week that Trump had a meeting with McCabe in the Oval Office in which he allegedly asked McCabe who he voted for in the 2016 presidential election.

Assistant Deputy Director David Bowdich is currently serving as the FBI’s acting deputy director.
