Loyola Marymount University named Peggy Rajski the next dean of their School of Film and Television, effective June 1, 2018.

Rajski, who is currently a professor at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, is a film producer and director who has worked with Martin Scorsese, John Sayles, Stephen Frears and Jodie Foster.

Rajski’s 1994 short film, Trevor won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. The success of the film prompted Rajski to create The Trevor Project, a nonprofit that provides crisis counseling and suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ youth.

Rajski will succeed outgoing Dean Stephen Ujlaki, who has served in that role since 2010.
