New Senator for the State of Mississippi

On April 1, 2018, Senator Thas Cochran (R-MS) resigned from the United States Senate. Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant (R) appointed Cindy Hyde-Smith (R) as interim Senator effective April 9, 2018. A special election will be held on November 6, 2018 to elect a Senator to serve out the remaining two years of Senator Cochran’s term.
