Bill Beach
The Senate confirmed William Beach to be commissioner of Bureau of Labor Statistics, within the Department of Labor on Wednesday.
Since 2016, Beach was vice president for policy research at Mercatus Center, George Mason University. He was previously a chief economist for the Senate Committee on the Budget from 2013 to 2016, and was the director of the Center for Data Analysis at The Heritage Foundation from 1995 to 2013.
Beach received his master’s degree from the University of Missouri in 1978 and a PhD from the Buckingham University in England in 2014.
