In Maine, Governor Paul LePage announced that his Chief of Staff, John McGough, has resigned to accept a position with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). “John has been with me since I first ran for governor in 2010,” said LePage. “I have appreciated his leadership the past several years, and I congratulate him as he continues his career in public service at the federal level.” McGough has served as Chief of Staff since Governor LePage was elected in 2010, and was Deputy Chief of Staff and Policy Director during LePage’s first gubernatorial campaign. Prior to joining the governor’s administration, McGough worked as a human resources officer for both the Waterville and South Portland, Maine. He will be replaced by current Deputy Chief of Staff Holly Lusk, who will serve as both Chief of Staff and Legislative Director for the governor.
