Daniel R. Porterfield will step down from his position as President of Franklin & Marshall College at the end of the current academic year. He will serve as the next President and Chief Executive Officer of The Aspen Institute, effective June 1, 2018. He has served as President of Franklin & Marshall since 2011. He previously served in multiple development positions at Georgetown University.
Heath Mello has been named Associate Vice President of University Affairs and Director of State Relations for the University of Nebraska System, effective December 18, 2017. Mello previously served eight years as a State Senator for Nebraska and four years as Chairman of the Legislature’s Appropriations Committee.

Paul Markovich, President and Chief Executive Officer of California Physicians’ Service, Inc. [Blue Shield of California], has been elected Chairman of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
The Consumer Specialty Products Association has announced that it will change its name to Household and Commercial Products Association next year.
James R. “Jim” Hirt, who stepped down last month as Chief Executive Officer of the American Society of Appraisers, is now Chief Executive Officer of the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS.
