Dr. Judy D. Olian, the dean of UCLA Anderson School of Management, was named the ninth president of Quinnipiac University, effective July 1, 2018.

Olian will be succeeding John L. Lahey, who announced his retirement last April after serving as president of the university since 1987.

Bill Weldon, Quinnipiac University board of trustees and presidential search committee chairman had the following to say about Olian, “Her leadership and accomplishments as dean of the Anderson graduate school of business as well as her leadership at Penn State really prepared her well to take Quinnipiac to the next level.”

Olian, the university’s first female president, will work with Lahey in the coming months as part of the presidential transition.
