The Institute of International Bankers [IIB] named Briget Polichene, currently vice president and head, federal government relations for MetLife, Inc., as their new chief executive officer.

In a press release, Polichene expressed her gratitude on being selected as CEO and that she ‘looks forward to working with all of the IIB members and stakeholders on the many challenges and opportunities facing the international banking community in the United States.”

Polichene comes to her new position with experience in both the public and private sectors, including serving as general counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Banking, Finance and Urban Affairs (now the Financial Services Committee) from 1990 to 1995.

Polichene will begin her new role on April 23rd, replacing current Chief Executive Officer Sarah A. “Sally” Miller, who has led the association since 2010.
