On October 3, the Entertainment Software Association has announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Michael D. “Mike: Gallagher will be stepping down later this month.

Stanley Pierre-Louis, currently senior vice president and general counsel, will become the interim president and chief executive officer at that time while the association searches for a permanent successor.

Prior to joining ESA in 2007, Gallagher held a variety of positions within the U.S. Department of Commerce, serving most recently as assistant secretary for communications and information and NTIA administrator under the George W. Bush Administration.

Gallagher also spent some time on the Hill at the beginning of his career serving as an administrative assistant/chief of staff for former Representative Rick White (R-WA).
