Sean Suggs
Next week, Toyota Motor North America will have a new person within the company to address the diversity and inclusion strategy of the company moving forward. Sean Suggs, President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Mississippi, has been assigned to take on the role of chief social innovation officer.
Suggs will replace Albert J. Smith Jr., who has governed Toyota Motor North America’s D&I initiatives for years. He led the company to rank 10th place on DiversityInc.’s 2020 Top 50 Companies for Diversity.
According to his bio, prior to rejoining Toyota in 2014, Suggs served as director of strategy, administration and human resources from 2011 to 2013 at Nissan’s North American headquarters in Franklin, Tenn.
