Kevin Klauer has been named the next CEO of the American Osteopathic Association, which represents more than 145,000 osteopathic physicians (DOs) and medical students. He will replace Adrienne White-Faines by the end of her current contract, which runs through May 31. Speaking of a pivotal moment in the sector, AOA President William S. Mayo stated “the DO profession is undergoing significant growth, with approximately one in four medical students attending a college of osteopathic medicine.”
Klauer has spent the last four years at Team Health, most recently as its chief medical officer for hospital-based systems. He was previously chief medical officer at Emergency Medicine Physicians Ltd., an emergency department staffing and management provider, where he spent 15 years. Klauer is also a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians’ board of directors.
