On September 12, Tracy R. Wolstencroft was named the new president and chief executive officer of National Geographic Society.
Wolstencroft, who has an extensive global business background, previously served as the president and chief executive officer at Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. from 2014-2017. Prior to that, he worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. for 25 years, serving most recently as managing director.
Wolstencroft will begin his new role on October 1 and succeeds Gary E. Knell, who left earlier this year to serve as CEO of National Geographic Partners.
At that time, the Interim President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Ulica will return to his previous position as the chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
