On June 25, 2018, the Aurora City Council selected Council Member Bob LeGare to serve as Mayor of Colorado’s third-largest city.

LeGare fills the vacancy created when former Mayor Stephen Hogan died on May 13 at age 69 shortly after a cancer diagnosis; Steve Hogan was serving his second term as mayor after six terms on the City Council.

Mayor LeGare, who served for nearly 15 years on Aurora City Council, will serve as mayor for the remainder of the term through November 2019.

The City Council has 45 days to fill LeGare’s vacant council seat.
