Norfolk Southern Corporation announced the promotion of John M. Scheib to executive vice president of law and administration and chief legal officer, effective March 1, 2018.
Scheib, who is currently serving as senior vice president of law and corporate Relations, succeeds William A. Galanko, who is retiring after a 28-year career with Norfolk Southern.
Before joining the company in 2005 as an attorney, Scheib worked at the U.S. Surface Transportation Board as chief of staff and counsel to the chairman.
Scheib’s government experience also includes serving as counsel to the Railroad Subcommittee in the U.S. House of Representatives.
