Terri McCullough
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA, 12th) said Terri McCullough will be her new chief of staff, replacing Danny Weiss, who served in the role from January 2017. Weiss was previously vice president for federal policy and director of the Washington regional office for Common Sense Media. From 1988 to 2015, he worked for former Congressman George Miller (D-CA).
McCullough will be the first female chief of staff to the Speaker of the House in modern times, in a paid, full-time capacity. She previously served as chief of staff in Pelosi’s personal office from 2003 to 2011. Her most recent role was CEO of No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project, a Clinton Foundation project focusing on global gender equality. She was also executive director of the Tory Burch Foundation from 2011 to 2014.
“Terri is an exemplary manager, motivator and mentor,” Pelosi said in a statement. “Her wisdom and strategic insight will strengthen our Democratic majority and our institution, especially in this transformational Congress led by a historic number of women serving in the House of Representatives.”
McCullough will start on March 25.
