Sidley Austin LLP announced that Michael J. Schmidtberger was elected Chair of the firm’s Executive committee, effective January 1, 2018. He will be succeeding Carter Phillips, who will remain a partner in the firm’s Supreme Court and Appellate practice. Schmidtberger has served on Sidley’s Executive Committee since 2002 and its Management Committee since 2008.
Peter D. Shields was re-elected as Managing Partner of Wiley Rein LLP for his third consecutive three-year term, effective January 1, 2018. It was also announced that Dorthula H. Powell-Woodson and Daniel J. Standish were re-elected to the Executive committee and that Christopher Kelly was re-elected to the firm’s Management Committee. Claire J. Evans, chair of the firm’s Appellate practice, was also elected to the Management Committee for the first time.
