Carrie Rebora Barratt, currently deputy director of collections and administration at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, was named chief executive officer and president at the New York Botanical Garden, effective July 1, 2018.

Barratt will succeed Gregory Long who announced last April that he will be stepping down on June 30, 2018.

Barratt, who holds a Ph.D. in art history from the City University of New York, will be the ninth leader of the organization and the first woman to serve in that role.
