Dr. Gordon Tomaselli has been named the Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz Dean at Yeshiva University’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

A 1982 graduate of the medical college, Dr. Tomaselli currently serves as chief of the Division of Cardiology and co-director of the Heart and Vascular Institute at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Tomaselli, a cardiac electrophysiologist who specializes in heart rhythm disorders and sudden cardiac death, also previously served as president of the American Heart Association from 2011 to 2012.

Dr. Tomaselli begins his new role on July 1st and succeeds Dr. Allen M. Spiegel, who has served as dean since 2006.
