The American Investment Council has announced that Andrew K. “Drew” Maloney has been named the association’s new president and chief executive officer. He will be joining AIC from the U.S. Treasury Department where he served as assistant secretary of legislative affairs since August of last year.

Maloney, who has worked with the Trump administration since the transition, previously spent time in the private sector as the chief executive officer of Ogilvy Government Relations and as the vice president of government affairs for Hess Corporation.

Maloney will begin his new role in early August 2018 and will replace Mike Sommers, who earlier announced he would be stepping down to join the American Petroleum Institute as its president and chief executive officer this Summer.
