On February 20th, Albertsons Companies announced an agreement to merge with Rite Aid Corporation.

The combined company will operate stores in 38 states and Washington, DC, with projected revenues of $83 billion for 2018.

The companies expect to complete the merger in the second half of 2018.

The combined company will have dual headquarters in Boise, Idaho, and Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, in the respective locations of Albertsons’ and Rite Aid’s current headquarters.

John Standley, Rite Aid’s chairman and chief executive officer, will serve as CEO, and Albertsons Chairman and CEO Bob Miller will become chairman of the combined company.
