Today, National Geographic Partners named Gary E. Knell as its new chief executive officer, effective March 1, 2018.

Knell succeeds Declan Moore, who has served as CEO since 2015 when the company was formed as a joint venture between Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc. and the National Geographic Society.

Knell joins National Geographic Partners from the National Geographic Society, where he has served as president and CEO since 2014.

Prior to that, Knell was CEO of NPR from 2011-2013 and CEO of Sesame Workshop from 2000-2011.
