The American Beverage Association (ABA) announced today that Katherine Lugar will join ABA as their new president and chief executive officer.

Katherine Lugar

Lugar will succeed Susan K. Neely, now president and CEO of the American Council of Life Insurers, who just concluded 13 years as ABA’s President and CEO at the end of August.

Currently, Lugar is serving as the president and chief executive officer of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), a position she’s held since 2013.

Prior to that, Lugar worked at Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) from 2007 to 2013 serving as executive vice president of public affairs. Lugar began her career in 1995 working on Capitol Hill as Former Rep. Tim Roemer’s legislative aide.

Lugar is expected to assume her new position later this year.
